Driver Spotlight ...see more
Officiating any sport is extremely difficult. With so much going on, it's so easy to miss something, not to mention the subjectivity of what one official can call compared to another. We all see the sport in different ways, but all we can ask for as fans is consistency. If slight contact to the shooter is a foul for the home team, it should be for the away team too. If a wreck in turn three for one series brings out a caution for one race, it should for another race. Especially when those races are a mere two days apart.
This Sunday marks the start for what should be an incredible IndyCar season as the cars hit the streets of St. Petersburg. The season will take the green flag on FOX, a partnership that came as a shock to many with the incredible coverage from NBC. Nonetheless, this season will mark the first time ever that all 17 races will air on the same network as not a single race will be moved to FS1 or other affiliate networks.Â
Pierre Gasly, Alex Albon, Sergio Perez, Liam Lawson. These are the victims of what could possibly go down as the worst team management in all of motorsports ever. Every single one of these drivers were riding career best performances into what seemed to be the most illustrious opportunity you could be given, the chance to drive for Red Bull. Six constructors' championships, eight drivers' championships, and over a hundred race victories. Anyone that can't perform with a team like that must lack the skill, right?
